How to Verify Canadian Solar Panels Online in Pakistan

Canadian Solar runs a free check, but almost every Pakistani site that links to it links to an address that stopped working. Here is the one that still does, what the serial looks like, and where to find it on your panel.

What the serial number looks like

No published format, so expect no particular length or prefix. It is not the model number, which is shorter and shared by thousands of panels.

Where to find the serial number

Serial number is present on a white label along the lower front edge of the solar panel, under the cells.

What their form asks for

The serial number and a verification code.

Worth knowing The address most Pakistani sites link to, csisolar.com/module-authenticity/, now redirects to the Canadian Solar home page and has not worked for a while. The live tool sits on the snquerycn subdomain. It is the simplest form of the lot: a serial, a verification code, Submit, with no country to choose. Their own caption says the serial mixes letters and numbers, so unlike Jinko there is no all digits rule to check it against. The verification code is a distorted picture rather than plain digits, which is harder to read on a phone in bright sun. Queries can also go to verification@csisolar.com.

The real address, and the ones imitating it
Real snquerycn.csisolar.com

Canadian Solar’s own site. A real Canadian Solar check happens here and nowhere else.

Fake Website csisolarverification.online

Despite the name, nothing here runs on Canadian Solar’s servers. A checker nobody but its owner controls can return whatever answer suits its owner.

Finding the serial number on your panel

Canadian Solar prints it on a white label bonded along the lower front edge of the module, in the pale strip under the bottom row of cells. The label carries a barcode and the Canadian Solar name beside it. The photo on their own form, shown further down this page, marks the exact spot with red boxes.

Take the number from the module itself rather than from a pallet sticker or a delivery note. Those get reprinted by hand along the way, and a mistyped sticker produces a failed check on a perfectly genuine panel. If your module also carries the serial on the back sheet, as many do, check the two read the same before you go any further.

Letters and numbers, not digits only

Canadian Solar says on the form itself that the serial is a string of numbers and letter combinations. That is worth knowing if you have come from our Jinko page, where the serial is 24 digits and nothing else: a letter in a Jinko serial means you are reading the wrong thing, but a letter in a Canadian Solar serial is perfectly normal.

What it also means is that there is no length or prefix rule to check your number against before you submit it. Canadian Solar publishes neither. The only real check is the one on their site.

Checking it on Canadian Solar’s website, step by step

Step 1: use the working address, not the one everyone links to

This is the part that wastes the most time. For years the address to use was csisolar.com/module-authenticity/, and a great many Pakistani solar sites still link to it. It no longer exists: it redirects to the Canadian Solar home page, where there is no checker and nothing to tell you that you have been sent somewhere else.

We tested it again on 2 October 2026 and it still redirects. If you have tried to verify a Canadian Solar panel before and concluded there was no tool, this is almost certainly why.

The live tool sits on the snquerycn.csisolar.com subdomain. The button at the top of this page goes straight to it.

Canadian Solar’s own form. The photo in the middle is theirs, marking the serial on the module with red boxes. The check happens on their site, not ours.

Step 2: type the serial number

One field, labelled Input Product Serial Number. Type it exactly as printed, including any leading zeros, and keep the letters as letters.

There is no country to choose here, which is a genuine difference from Jinko. Canadian Solar asks for the serial and nothing else about you.

Step 3: read the verification code, then Submit

Below the photo is a second field, Input Verification Code, with four characters shown beside it as a distorted coloured image. Copy them into the box and press the red Submit button.

Be warned that this one is harder than it looks. The characters are stretched, overlapped and coloured, which is deliberate, and reading them on a phone screen in bright sunlight next to a pallet is genuinely difficult. If you cannot make them out, click the image and it loads a fresh one.

If Canadian Solar cannot find your serial

Work through these in order. The first two account for most of what we see.

  1. You used the old address. If the page you are on does not look like the form pictured above, you are not on the checker. See Step 1.
  2. A character was misread. Letters and digits together make this easy. The usual culprits are a capital O read as a zero, a capital I read as a one, and the digit 5 read as an S. Check it against the label character by character.
  3. You read the model number. A Canadian Solar model number looks like CS6W-545MS and describes the product. Thousands of panels share it. The serial is unique to your module.
  4. The verification code was wrong. It will simply refuse rather than tell you the serial is bad. Load a fresh code and try again before concluding anything.
  5. The batch has not been loaded yet. Very recent production can lag the public database.
  6. The panel is not a Canadian Solar. Reach for this last, once the five above are genuinely ruled out, and only after checking several modules rather than one.

If a serial you have checked carefully still fails, Canadian Solar takes queries by email at verification@csisolar.com. Take serials from three or four panels across different pallets first, and photograph the labels. One failure is a typo. A whole pallet failing is a finding, and an email from the manufacturer saying so is worth far more in a dispute than a screenshot.

Why the imitation sites exist

There is at least one site built to look like a Canadian Solar verification service. The real address and the one copying it are listed near the top of this page.

The reasoning is simple. A verification page that nobody controls but its own operator can return whatever answer suits that operator, and the answer that suits is genuine. A buyer who checks a counterfeit panel on a site like that walks away reassured, which is exactly what the seller wanted.

Canadian Solar is an easier target than most, precisely because its real address is the one nobody can remember. When the link everyone shares is broken and the working one is a subdomain called snquerycn, a clean-looking imitation is more convincing than the real thing.

We re-check where these sites are hosted. Checking them one day apart in October 2026, every one of the rotating imitators had changed machine overnight, and every one had moved within the same small pool of addresses. Sites claiming to speak for different manufacturers, drawing from one pool and rotating daily, is one operator running all of them. The detail is on the verification hub.

The rule is short enough to carry: a real Canadian Solar check happens on snquerycn.csisolar.com and nowhere else.

What a Canadian Solar pass does and does not prove

A match means Canadian Solar has that serial in its production records and the module is theirs. That is worth having, and a panel assembled in a workshop will not have one.

It does not tell you the panel is A grade, because manufacturers record downgraded modules too and a genuine B grade panel passes. It does not tell you the module is undamaged, because microcracks from rough transport do not change a serial number. It does not tell you the warranty is yours, because that depends on the channel the panel was sold through. And it does not tell you the output matches the label, which only a flash test can settle.

Treat a pass as proof of origin. Everything else is a separate conversation with your supplier.

Common questions about Canadian Solar verification

Why does the address say csisolar and not canadiansolar?

Because both names are theirs. The group behind Canadian Solar modules operates as CSI Solar, and csisolar.com is their own domain. A page at csisolar.com is not an imitation. This trips people up often enough that it is worth saying plainly: the thing to check is whether the address ends in csisolar.com, not whether it contains the word Canadian.

Do I have to pick a country?

No. Canadian Solar asks for the serial and the verification code and nothing else. If you have used Jinko’s checker, which asks for a country first and uses it to work out which warranty region the panel belongs to, this one is simpler.

How long is a Canadian Solar serial number?

They do not publish a length. All they say is that it is a combination of numbers and letters. That means there is nothing to check before you submit it, which is the opposite of Jinko, where 24 digits is a published rule you can test against.

The old module-authenticity link does not work. Has the tool gone?

No, it moved. csisolar.com/module-authenticity/ redirects to the home page and has done for a while, but the checker itself is alive at snquerycn.csisolar.com and we test it each time we update this page. The dead link is the reason a lot of people believe Canadian Solar has no verification tool.

Should I check before installing?

Yes. The label sits on the front edge and the back sheet, so once a panel is mounted and wired you would have to take it down to read it. Check on delivery, while refusing the consignment is still an option.

The seller showed me an import sheet. Is that the same thing?

It is useful but it answers a different question. An import document proves somebody imported a quantity of panels. It only says anything about yours if the serial ranges printed on it cover the numbers on the modules in front of you. Check two or three against the document, then verify those same serials on Canadian Solar’s own site.
