Finding the serial number on your panel
Astronergy tells you plainly on their own page: the serial number is at the top of the front of the module, or on the side of the frame. They print a photograph beside the form showing both places, so you can match what you are holding against their picture before you type anything.
The front top position is the useful one on an installed array. On a roof you can often read the serial without unbolting anything, which is not true of brands that print it only on the back sheet.
Take the number from the module, not from a pallet sticker or a delivery note. Those are retyped by hand and a single wrong character fails a genuine panel.
Digits, and no letters at all
Astronergy publishes no format, but they are unusual in printing a real serial in their own figure rather than a masked pattern. The one on their page reads 631000640249814472: eighteen characters, every one of them a digit.
That is worth knowing before you start typing. If what you are copying off the label has letters in it, you are probably reading the model number or a batch code rather than the serial. The serial is found
Astronergy made this module and the number is in their records. That is a real and useful answer. It says nothing about transit damage, storage, or whether the seller will stand behind the panel. It says the module is genuine.
Nothing comes back
Check the number again against the label on the module itself before you do anything else. Confusing 0 with O, 1 with I and 5 with S accounts for most failures. Read it in good light, and if the panel is dusty, wipe the label.
If a serial you have copied correctly still fails, stop and take it up with whoever sold you the panels, in writing, before the rest of the consignment is installed. Ask them to produce the import documents against your serial numbers.
Common questions
