These terms cover your use of solarguide.pk. By using the site you accept them. If you do not, please do not use it.
What this site is
Solar Guide publishes specifications, price ranges, guides and calculators for solar equipment sold in Pakistan, and offers to introduce you to solar installers who can quote for work.
We are a publication and an introduction service. We do not sell, import, install or service equipment, and nothing here is an offer to sell anything.
Information is general, not advice
Everything published here is general information. It is not engineering advice, financial advice or a recommendation for your particular property, and it cannot account for your roof, your shading, your load pattern or your budget.
Specifications come from manufacturers’ datasheets and prices are market ranges rather than quotations. The limits of both, and of our calculators, are set out on our disclaimer page, which forms part of these terms.
The quote service
We are not currently offering a quote service and the form is switched off. If we bring it back, these terms will say so before it accepts anything.
Requests sent while it was running were passed to installers in our directory at the time. Our privacy policy explains what that means and how to ask us to delete our copy.
The installer directory
The directory is the other route, and you approach the company yourself. When you use it:
- You approach the installer, not the other way round. There is no enquiry form. Pressing Show contact details reveals their phone number, WhatsApp and email, and you contact them yourself. We do not collect your name, number or email at any point.
- We record the press and tell the installer. The record and the notice carry a reference code, the time and the city, and nothing that identifies you. Our privacy policy sets out exactly what is stored and for how long.
- Installers pay to be listed. A company that has not paid does not appear.
- Listing is not endorsement. We check company registration and previous installations before a listing goes live, and that is the whole of what we check. We do not inspect workmanship, and we do not represent that any installer is licensed, competent, solvent or suitable for your job. Satisfy yourself on all of those points before paying anyone.
- We are not party to what follows. Any quotation, contract, payment, installation, warranty or dispute is between you and the installer. We do not set their prices, supervise their work, inspect their installations or hold their warranties.
- We do not guarantee that any installer will answer you, or how quickly.
Using the site
You may read, print and share our pages for your own use, and quote from them with attribution and a link.
You may not:
- copy our catalogue, in whole or in substantial part, to build or supplement a competing database, including by automated scraping;
- submit false quote requests, or requests on behalf of someone who has not asked you to;
- press an installer’s contact button repeatedly, or run anything automated that does, in order to distort the count against their listing;
- use the site to advertise, or to harvest contact details;
- attempt to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to the site.
Intellectual property
The way we compile, structure, describe and present the catalogue, including our text, our comparisons, our calculators and their underlying models, belongs to Solar Guide.
The underlying technical specifications are facts published by the manufacturers, and we claim no ownership of them. Manufacturer names, model numbers, logos and trademarks belong to their respective owners and are used to identify the products described. Datasheets linked or hosted here remain the property of the manufacturer that issued them, and are provided so you can verify what we publish.
Nothing here implies that any manufacturer endorses, sponsors or is affiliated with Solar Guide. None do, and none pay us.
Availability
We try to keep the site up and current, but we do not promise uninterrupted availability. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it, including individual listings, calculators or the quote service, without notice.
Liability
The site is provided as it stands. To the fullest extent permitted by law we exclude liability for loss or damage arising from your use of it or reliance on it, including equipment bought, contracts entered into, work carried out or expected savings not achieved.
In particular, we are not liable for the acts or omissions of any installer you are introduced to through this site.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Links to other sites
We link to manufacturer sites, datasheets and official sources so you can check what we publish. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or availability.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The current version is always the one on this page, with its date at the top. Material changes to the quote service or to how the site is funded will be reflected here before they take effect.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan, and the courts of Pakistan have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
