Knox Krypton PV6000 4kW Hybrid Inverter

Note: 4000 W rated output from up to 6000 W of PV, 17.4 A nominal output current and an 8000 VA surge. Knox model code 4kW-24-pV6000-TWIN. Knox's datasheet lists grid-tie operation and grid feeding, but its certification list (IEC 62109-1 and -2, IEC 61683, the EU Low Voltage Directive, and an "IEC 61682" that is probably a misprint of 61683) has no IEC 62116 anti-islanding or IEC 61727 grid-connection standard, so confirm your distribution company will accept it for net metering before planning an export system. The grid output range is printed as 170 to 280 V and 90 to 280 V, the same figures as the off-grid input windows, so ask the dealer what grid voltage it exports at. The battery voltage does not add up: the model code reads 24 V, but the battery table gives 48 VDC with a 54 V float and a 63 V cut-off. Both cannot be right, so the battery voltage is left blank here until the dealer confirms it, and it matters, because a 24 V inverter cannot run a 48 V bank. One MPPT at 27 A (40 A maximum) with a 500 V ceiling, starting at 120 V and feeding the grid from 150 V. The table gives a 60 to 450 V MPPT window and the front page 90 to 450 V. 120 A charging from solar and from mains. Pure sine wave output with a 10 ms transfer for computers and 20 ms for appliances, 93% battery-mode efficiency and 95% maximum DC to AC conversion, power factor above 0.99. Dual outputs for smart load management, a 12 V DC output of up to 100 W for a DC fan, LED lights or a router, RGB status lights, built-in WiFi with an Android and iOS app, USB on-the-go, dry contact and a reserved RS485 BMS port. It runs without a battery, accepts mains or generator input, and restarts on mains at 180 V. Replaceable fan and a built-in anti-dust kit. The datasheet also prints a "Battery + PV output power" of 8000 W for both models, double the 4 kW model's rating, without explaining it, so the rated output is used. 12 kg in a 330 × 520 × 120 mm case, rated -10 to +50 °C.
